  OHIO TO BE REPRESENTED AT NATIONAL COMPETITION FRAZEYSBURG, OH—— 

 Two members of the Ohio Christmas Tree Association (OCTA) will represent Ohio in the National Christmas Tree Contest.  This event will take place at the National Christmas Tree Associations  (NCTA) Convention and Tradeshow in Des Moines, Iowa August 13-16, 2008. Growers representing Ohio include: Whitehouse  Christmas Tree Farm in Lucas County represented by Duke Wheeler.  This will be the third time that Whitehouse Christmas Tree Farm has participated in the national competition.  Last year they won first place with a Blue Spruce.  In 2006, their White Pine won second place in the national competition.  They also  were the 2006 Ohio State Fair winner. Walsh Christmas Tree Farm in Licking County represented by Carolyn Walsh.  This is the first time that Walsh Christmas Tree Farm has participated in the national competition.  They also won the Grand Champion honors  at the 2007 Ohio State Fair. The winner of the national competition will have the opportunity to present a tree to the First Lady for display in the White House Blue Room in 2008.  the second place finisher will have the opportunity to provide a Christmas tree to the Vice President. For more information on OCTA go to our web site at www.ohiochristmastree.com
